Many older Americans were raised in households listening to their parents discussing how they were going to pay the bills that month. Kids learned from an early age that there is only so much money in the household budget. The founding fathers used the phrase “Caveat Emptor”. You bought it, you own it and there are no returns. Think long and hard before you spend your money. If you have enough money for either a bus ride home or lunch, which do you choose? Another phrase kids were raised with was “you broke it– you fix it. If it breaks again, then you fix it so it won’t break again.” Those two phrases comprised the backbone of communities all over this proud country. Our country is broke and broken. And, you can’t get blood out of a turnip.
This concept of the government taking money from the people and businesses by laws enforced by the courts at the end of a barrel to enrich themselves and their friends must stop. This starting wars to enrich themselves and their friends must stop. Spending trillions of dollars on new fanciful wars cannot be allowed to continue. Sending our kids to die in foreign wars is not going to continue. The fastest way to get rich is with a government contract. Here is the formula. Hire an actor to become president. Start a foreign war. Give it a catchy slang name like “enduring freedom” or “desert storm”. Give it a righteous cause. We’re fighting for “democracy, apple pie and the American Way”. Work with all the defense contractors to provide jobs. Then sit back and collect all the kickbacks. Caveat Emptor!!! We ain’t buying their crap no more!!! Borrowing money from China to fund endless wars is like buying and polishing the guillotine to cut off our own heads.
