The last time I saw Kenneth alive was about a month before he died in Vietnam. He was home on leave before going back to Vietnam. He was in the backyard of my parents house. He had about a dozen young neighborhood kids marching around as if they were on a military parade ground. Aunt Odessie never recovered from his death. No parent deserves to be a “Gold Star Parent.”
